Rafting on the Pacuare
On our last 2 days we went to do some white water rafting on the Pacuare river. We opted for the 2-day trip. It was a lot
of fun and the river is very beautiful. We did it with the Costa Rica Expeditions company, and they were great.
Our guide was Laura, and she was brilliant! The whole group was Michal and I, and a family from Vermont - Peter and Lisa,
with their two kids Ally and Willy. We had a good time together on the raft, it is really recommended!
After getting ready, we started paddling (In the rain, by the way). It was cold, but not too cold...
We stopped in a place, and went for a little walk. Nothing too exciting - just a little pool. Lisa asked me to take
that 2nd picture - she loved those green leaves...
The first day was extremly short - about 2 hours on the river, or even less. We camped in a beautiful place, on top of
the river, with really cozy tents. Those guys cook really good food, and it was fun just hanging around that camp during
the afternoon (It was too rainy to take a walk).
The 2nd day of the trip is much better - you have a lot more river time, and the river is faster, the rapids are bigger,
and the views are better. And it was sunny most of the time, too... I've got all possible permutations of the crew - Laura/Michal/Lisa, Lisa/Laura/Willy, Peter/Lisa/Willy,
whatever you want. Notice that the only one without pictures is me (I was the only one willing to risk his life and actually take
pictures during this trip).
The second day we also stopped for a quick hike, up a small waterfall.
