Nagar to Jari trek, day four

We woke up in the Parvati valley, and started to walk in this gorgeous valley.

We walked into a small village. It turns out that the Parvati valley is one of the biggest Hashish (Marijuana) growing areas in India. They just grow it wild like that (And they claim that it was even more prolific a few years ago).
So these people in Malana and the villages around trade in the drugs for a living. Hashish-Chapati anyone?

And then we walked some more. See if you can spot Michal in that first picture.

We met a fierce little wild mouse on the trek. Luckily we survived the encounter.

In the opposite mountain we saw the 'summer' houses of the Malana people (where they work in the fields during the summer months).

We finally reached Malana. This is a very weird village - you are not allowed to touch anything or talk to anyone, because you are not holy enough or something. The fine for touching the temple is 1000 rupees (they have to buy a goat and sacrifice it to the god that got angry because you touched his temple). So basically they are annoying people, touch-o-phobic drug-dealers.

Another two pictures from the way. That dam is where the trek will end on the next day.

Dinner time... How I miss those great dishes. Yummy!
