The Hampta-Pass trek, day 4

We woke up early in the morning... We still had to go over the pass, and then had a long way down.

We started to climb up. There was a nice glacier to our right, and then we saw a really good place to ski...

The final ascent...

And then we reached the highest point (around 4300m or so). What views!

On the top we watched the horses going on the mountain side, and then we also saw a herd of sheep walking on the ice fields. Sheep on ice!

We started climbing down, and met a group of geologists studying the glacier. They were very happy to meet us (finally someone to talk to!) so we got some tea, and now we have a new friend - Fahim.

After the geologists camp we walked through the valley for a little while.

And then we had another long descent, that was quite annoying. That huge metropolitan city you see in the the middle picture (on the right side) is known as Chattru.

We finally settled in for the last camp and last dinner. Anuk actually made a cake, in a pot on the fire!
In the last picture here you can see the map of the trek (That Annand drew on the last page of my book).
