Leh to Manali

Still with our new Italian friends, we took a jeep ride to Manali. It took us two days, we stopped in Keylong for the night. It's a beautiful way... Starts with the Ladakhi desert, and then it gets greener and greener all the time. You have to go over five high mountain passes.

The best part of the way was when Stanzin (Our excellent driver) decided to take a short-cut. He just drove through this brilliant wilderness...

In the first day we stopped for lunch in Pang - a really tiny town (er, it's actually just a few tents, really).

As we got closer to Keylong, the landscape turned green, with fields and villages.

Finally we went over the last pass, entered the Kullu valley, and saw Manali in the distance. We also saw a group of vultures (or eagles, maybe), hovering a few meters above us.
