My trip to Samoa.

Touring Savaii

Although the best thing to do in Savaii is stay in Tanu beach, and do nothing, I did take some time to tour 'round the island.
My favorite places - Most people usually go and look at the Canopy Walkway. It is a small bridge built between two big trees. It is a nice place, but quite costly to visit (20Talas, if I remember correctly, which is quite a lot in Samoa). The money goes to the village, but it is still just a small suspended bridge (In New-Zealand I had tons of bridges, just like that, and they were free...).
Taga Blowholes. Cool, but when they tell you not to get too close, listen to them. Me & Rick - we didn't, and my leg still hurts from that.
Angie & Judy try their luck at throwing coconuts at the blowholes. The coconuts can fly up to 80 meters (well, that's what the samoans tell you, anyway...)
The sea by the Blowholes.
The amazing waterfall.
The waterfall again.
Still at the waterfall (Well, I liked this place, see)
Adva climbing the Canopy walkway bridge.
The view from the walkway. Many trees died in a recent storm, and the forest is only now starting to regenerate..
Drinking a coconut (mmmm...)
Watching a Rugby game.
The samoan version of the school bus.

Goodbye to Savaii

Saying good-bye to all the nice people at Tanu-beach was not easy. Here are some nice pictures, going back to Upolu.
Goodbye to Judy, Rain and Frida.
Just before boarding the ferry back to Upolu.
Me with a couple of cops, near the ferry terminal.
Resting on the ferry....

Lalomano Beach

The beach at Lalomano, in Upolu, is another beautiful place. You can rent a Fale, just like in Tanu-Beach, and live close to the sea. I liked Tanu a little better than Lalomano, but it is still a great place.
Lalomano beach. Nice view, eh?
Same beach, other side. The fales here are quite far from the beach, when compared to Tanu beach...
My Fale at Lalomano
Sunset at Lalomano....
Okay. Last picture of a sunset in Samoa!

Around Upolu

Just before I left Samoa, I rented a suzuki Jeep with a couple of friends, and went 'round the island. The bahaiian (I have no idea how to write this word!) temple was nice, as were the beaches on the south part. Rose wanted to find the perfect Fale in samoa - and I think we did, look for the two-story one below!
The Bahaiian temple. It looks like a fale, really, and it's quite pretty.
One of the southern beaches.
Another beautiful beach...
Probably the only two-story fale in samoa.

Kiwi pictures

Melanie sent me some photos she took in Samoa (Did you see the couple from NZ that are resting in Tanu in the previous page? that's Melanie & Demian, from Willington). With her kind permission, here are some of her pictures. Thanks Melanie!
Hey, that's the school bug again (I actually took the same photo with my camera, and then with Melanie's camera. But she had a zoom, so it looks better here...).
Dancing in Tanu. You can really see that Tattoos in this picture. Cool, eh?.

Dinner! (yep, they caught their own fish in Tanu)
The fire dance in Kitano hotel (In Apia)

Olga pictures

Here are some pictures that Olga sent me. Just great (Thanks Olga! you're the greatest...)

Finally

Well, that was basically the end of my trip. After Samoa, I flew to LA (just 2 days, but I've been to DisneyLand, and here's the place to thank Adva and her family for the great time in LA), and then London, and then back home to israel. It was really an amazing trip - half a year in the pacific (New Zealand and Samoa). I can't even begin to say how much I enjoyed it, so I won't.
Well, okay, okay. Here's a picture from DisneyLand, with Adva, just saying goodbye to you all -
