My trip to New Zealand

The Coromandel

After Auckland I headed to the Coromandel Peninsula, where I spent 2 days. It's quite nice up there..

Northland

I had about a week till my flight to Samoa, and I spent most of it in the Northland again. Lot's of exciting things happened. My car died near Silverdale - and was kindly donated to the New-Zealand metal industry (ie - It was squashed into a small cube). It was quite a good car, so it was kinda sad. I also met with Tamar & Einat again, and also with Gal & Bex. I guess it was quite a depressing week (Not because GodZilla, really).
Anyway, because I no longer had a car (and neither did gal, because he sold Sami) I had to hitch hike the whole week. It was quite an experience - I met lot's of really nice (and weird...) people. It was fun, and, might I add, I was pretty good at it. I mean when we returned to auckland, I got us a ride (For Gal & Bex and Me, With all the bags) - from Kahoe Farm to the backpackers in auckland - it's something like a 5 hours ride. From door to door!

That's where my car died. Please take a small silent moment for her...
Be silent in that solitude which is not loneliness - for then
The spirits of the dead, who stood In life before thee, are again
In death around thee, and their will shall overshadow thee.
Be still.

Towing GodZilla away. I think it was the first time I towed a car, so it's pretty exciting.
These are the famous toilets in KawaKawa (yep, that's what the town is proud of, it's toilets)
Well, they are quite nice, the toilets. They were designed by some famous Austrian architect, who unfortunately died last year. I hope Gal wouldn't mind me putting this picture here :)

The kitchen of Kahoe farm - one of the most beautiful backpackers in NZ. For some reason Gal seems happy, don't ask me why (I wasn't particularly happy that day)

Back in Auckland

Well, from the Northland we came back south to auckland. I was flying to Samoa, Bex & Gal were headed for Australia.
Oakland lodge - a nice backpackers (and in auckland, that's rare) near Mt Eden.
One of the main reasons I liked this backpacker - they had a good piano. Gal didn't enjoy that feature so much.
The skytower at night. Wow.
Saying goodbye to Gal & Bex, in the oaklands lodge garden.
